Approved for Takeoff!

Today was an exciting day, as Erin and I sat down with some of the Parkside elders to debrief on our recent vision trip to STS in Mazatlán, Mexico. We expressed to them how thrilled we were and that we do indeed feel the tug of God willing us to go and serve there as missionaries. And get this: they said yes! Go!

Next steps ahead—we need to raise support, seek counseling, work through training, make a website (check). We have a lot of conversations ahead and a lot of transitions to make! Reading, researching, learning Spanish….we want God to go ahead of us on all this and pave the way so that we would go in His timing, and according to His perfect will and plan.

Would you pray with us? We are so grateful to everything the Lord has blessed us with for these first 11 years of marriage/career/friendships/church, and it makes a lot of sense looking back to see his work in preparing us for this change. Please pray that Erin and I can have the right words to speak on behalf of ourselves and Shoulder to Shoulder when raising funds, discussing our journey with friends, describing the mission, etc. Please pray for our kids who are jazzed but also would like to have some normalcy in life. And pray for STS right now, that God would use them well and expand the ministry to help many more Mexican churches to flourish.
